Let’s not pretend running a successful company blog is easy. It takes time, manpower and an in-depth understanding of your target audience. Assuming you’ve got the basics down, there are a few simple ways to get more from each post. Here are 3 easy ways to increase traffic to your blog.
1. Post on the weekend
You’re constantly monitoring your blog’s analytics (right?!). Look for trends and variances to determine the best day of the week and time of day to post. According to a recent eMarketer study, blogs actually get the biggest ROI on weekend posts, even though most publish on weekdays.
2. Include an image or video
Posts with images get 94 percent more pageviews than text-only posts. Most bloggers realize the importance of including a visual element—the hard part is finding one! Contently’s got 5 great tips for helping you secure free images.
3. Include a comment section and respond to readers’ posts
You’re running a blog because you want to engage with your target audience. Engagement is a two-way street. You need to allow your audience a simple way to communicate with you. By allowing readers to comment on your blog posts, you convey a commitment to an open dialogue. When readers do take the time to comment, engage with them! Respond to their messages, whether positive or negative. Be sure to have clear company guidelines for social media communication in place so your responses, and all social media interactions, adequately portray your brand persona.
