“Future of Medicine”/Boston Globe Magazine

The Boston Globe media team reached out for help on a special edition of The Boston Globe Magazine, "The Future of Medicine." I wrote the introductory article, which focused on advancements in personalized medicine. For the story, I interviewed leaders from Tempus, Illumina, MIT, and GRAIl. These experts were incredibly generous with their time and helped me understand complicated advancements in genomics and present them in a way the average reader could understand.

I wrote a second story about Julia Vitarello, who, after losing her daughter Mila to a rare disease, founded EveryONE Medicines to create a viable business model for delivering individualized medicines to children with rare diseases at scale. I remain moved by Julia's courage and mission and hopeful about the progress the organization is making.

The magazine ran in the Sunday edition of The Boston Globe. Contact JR Lisk to request a digital copy
